DJBTherapy is led by Richard "D.J." Bishop, a psychotherapist serving the Boulder area. D.J. is dedicated to helping individuals transform their life stories and cultivate more connected relationships with themselves, loved ones, and the world around them. D.J.'s professional journey includes working as a primary clinician at Jaywalker Lodge, a drug and alcohol treatment center for men in Carbondale, Colorado. There, he helped individuals walk through trauma and integrate into 12-step recovery communities. Additionally, D.J. serves as a guide at Onsite Workshops in Tennessee, specializing in individual and group intensives focused on trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, and substance abuse treatment.
As a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor, D.J. offers LGBTQIA affirmative therapy, psychodrama therapy (utilizing role play and group dynamics), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), 12-step facilitation, and mindfulness training.
