Saddlemans was founded in 1992 by Lance Nolder, an entrepreneur with a passion for innovation. The company started by selling leather accessories at a winter market in Palm Desert, California. As the business grew, Lance decided to open a seasonal store in Santa Fe, New Mexico, known for its authentic southwest style products and furnishings. It was during this time that he discovered the source for hair-on-hide cowhide rugs and began traveling to Brazil to source supplies from the best tanneries.

To ensure the highest quality, Lance made frequent trips to Brazil and established long-term relationships with trusted suppliers. The success of Saddlemans expanded beyond retail as they entered the wholesale market and catered to the design trade throughout the United States. In 2013, Saddlemans moved back to Orange County, California, where Lance now resides with his wife Michela and their golden doodle Lola.

Today, Saddlemans is the leading branded hair-on-hide supplier in the country, thanks to Lance's dedication, innovative ideas, and the support of their loyal customers.
